The Water Rail & Our Festive Nod

Less than 12 months ago, full of trepidation we made our first post. Our focal point was to return to our angling roots, after becoming jaded with commercial bollocks. The synergy between angler and the natural world is at our core, that’s the sole reason we’ve been lifelong angling nuts. Keep your egos & flexing….that’s for sport stars or actors and not our flavour. We wanted to genuinely connect with other ‘likeminded’ who live and breath it for the love. The platform and our ethos allow us to be free, aligning with no one, and being guided by passion over posturing, while surreptitiously flipping the bird to the charlatans and PART of the modern game that is utter bollocks…….Swanshot was born.

Angling was always about escapism, allowing you to slip back into our natural state of existence. a space to tap-out from the modern world, a realignment of shared values amongst mates, chase a dream and the absolute daydream of clear water and a world below the reflective surface.

If you possess a creative streak it can be a devil in disguise. That need to build, that constant dynamo between the ears it’s constant revolution gnawing away and it’s hard to switch off.
We fused this creative vibe into Swanshots’ foundation, without the aim of blagging your catch rate will increase, it was about tapping into something relevant to angling, nature and crafted by human hands.

Our final product for the festive was a tip to the older generation and the traditionalists. Centred around Richard Walker & the beautiful and secretive bird….the water rail. Accompanying the artwork are words from the late Chris Ball, artwork by Mr E, floats crafted by Andy field and not forgetting a slice of cinematic brilliance from The Sweetcorn kid. It’s a mash-up from ‘The Rogues’ with shared input, and within less than 3 hours going live it was a Sell Out. That’s not a brag or display of our cobnuts being bigger than others, we are fully aware we are just a small fish in a big pond, and we are very humble for the support we have been shown for a such a young pup on the scene.

We will return in the New Year with an upbeat tempo bring our next creative steak into the 21st century.

So Big Love to anyone who has got on board, put their hand in their pocket, and relate to our obsession. Take what you will from angling, but you will find us off the beaten track and the kettles always roaring if you fancy a cuppa!

Be free and enjoy the festive from the Swanshot Rogues.
